In the 1500s, Oliver Martell constructed a building where all the various mythological and otherwise non-human intelligent life could live in safety from the persecution many of them faced in this era. He dubbed it "Martell's Haven for the Estranged", and it stood for many centuries. However, in 1907, humans discovered Martell's safe haven and burned it (and all the inhabitants) to the ground. A few days later, a few small groups of people from that haven returned. They were spared because they had been out on quests and hunting missions. Of course, they were very distraught to discover their friends had died and the haven was gone. Over the next few days, they built a large wrought-iron fence and wove charms of protection and concealment around it so that no human could set foot in the clearing. Then, they started building cabins all over the large clearing. They made sure to enchant those as well, both for protection and extra size on their interior. Finally, the camp was done and it was named Camp of the Exiled. They advertised it and the various mythological species streamed in over the next few days. It prospered, but on the anniversary of Martell's Haven for the Estranged's burning, all the founders of the new Camp went missing. Their corpses were never found. Every decade since then, on the exact anniversary of the burning of Martell's Haven for the Estranged, several campers vanish. But this time, it's 2015, 3 years before the next due date for the 'sacrifices'. More than ever now go missing... this is their story. They wake up and find themselves in an unfamiliar room. Little do they know, this room is in Martell's Haven, destroyed over a century ago. The structure of Martell's Haven is significantly different than Camp's, so it's no wonder it's unfamiliar... Instead of little cabins speckling a field, Martell's Haven was one building with a large common area and then individual wings. There's the Children's Wing, and then individual wings for teenage girls and teenage boys, then a few wings for adult women and adult men, then one comfortable wing for elders. All of these are accessible through the common area. Also, there are holes in the floor leading into eternal darkness below. It is possible to get outside, but egress will only lead to an impassable wall of foliage. (( See map- getting outside is useless because you'll just encounter a wall of trees and plants blocking your way )) But the other unfamiliar thing here are the spirits littering the halls. Everyone who died here is in the hallways, some evil, and some not. The old Haven is determined to wring the life out of all the characters in the nastiest ways... This scenario will rely HEAVILY on narration. Don't make any assumptions about your surroundings or the effects of your actions without the narrator. It ends when everyone is dead. So, this is NOT canon (killing your character here will NOT affect their fate in other scenarios, unless you want to give them a few mysterious scars...). Also, you DON'T need to PM me about killing off characters here because, well, everyone's going to die and I already know that. If your character is already dead upon entry, they will rapidly begin 'darkening', or turning against their friends. Soon, they might not even be themselves... Go ahead and kill your character in the most painful way... If you don't like blood and gore being described, you shouldn't join... because this may get quite a bit. It is supposed to be sad, as well. Try and pull some heart strings! EDIT: Keep in mind that this place has NO FOOD OR WATER. Unless your character gains the favor of a spirit, they will die within 5-10 days (every time a day passes, the narrator will let you know) of entry due to thirst. Keep in mind that they will get thirsty, very thirsty, very soon. If they manage to survive for 30-40 days on water (this probably won't last that long), but still no food, they will die of starvation. They should also get hungry fairly quickly. I will TRY and keep track of this but no guarantees. Every day after the 4th day, I will roll if they live or die of thirst. On the 5th day after no water, you'll have a 10% chance of dying. On the 6th, a 20% chance of dying. On the 7th, a 40% chance of dying. The 8th day has a 60% chance of dying. The 9th has an 80% chance of dying, and the 10th is guaranteed death.
ALSO abilities will come into play here! Strength ability will mean your character can move large objects in their way. If you gave your character Agility, they'll be able to leap across the gaps in the floor. Locksmiths can pick the locks to doors (unless stated). The Unnoticeable series will give them the ability to hide from most unfriendly eyes. Elemental abilities are not of much use here due to them causing severe damage to the Haven... which simply makes it harder to traverse. Speed will make it easier for them to escape enemies, and balance will make it impossible for them to fall off into the darkness in the holes if they are perched on the edge and looking in. They have reduced chances of falling if they're pushed, but they CAN FALL IF PUSHED.
The narrator will control all NPCs. Sometimes, you must approach NPCs and do as they wish in order to get food or water. Some NPCs are hostile, so you must take this risk!
I was going to add another super important note here but then I forgot. Well, it will be updated soon when I remember!

Kade slowly opened his eyes he felt the floor aginst his cheek. He layed on the floor with his eyes opened, untill he realised he never went to sleep. He bolted up Looking around the room. standing up he stared at a hole in the floor. completely dark and endless. He was baffled he didnt know how he got into this building or maybe was he kippnapped. "is this a dream.."
He rejected that thought knowing that he was very awake. Kade started to roam around the room searching for awnsers.

In the corner of the room, there is a desk. It looks like it could easily be taken apart for materials. In the other corner of the room, there is a skeleton with a bunch of child's alphabet cubes stuffed into its empty ribcage. Also, there are lots of tiny little beds everywhere, some with mobiles hanging above them. However, these mobiles are unsettling- instead of having cute objects dangling down on strings, it appears that actual teeth have been tied there.

Her first impression of the room was the teeth dangling from the ceiling, like little white stars in a field of darkness. Her second impression was the reek. And her third impression of her surroundings was a certain bandana-wearing human looking around. However, she decided against calling attention to herself, and instead investigated the room more. The darkness was of little bother to her, mainly because of her enhanced night vision. She noticed as soon as she started moving the gaping chasm in the floor. On the far side of it, she saw a door leading off into an abyss of shadow not even her gaze could make heads or tails out of. It sent a dart of cold down her spine. In the corner, Sadie's gaze fell upon a desk that looked like it could be disassembled easily. She fidgeted with it a little bit, hoping to separate the parts cleanly.

![](http://th05.deviantart.net/fs71/PRE/i/2015/002/9/9/kade_with_border_by_equinoxsoul-d8cbboc.png) The sight of the small bones attached to the mobile strings gave him a hint of nausa. Roaming around Kade stoped and stared at the skeleton and its unsettling alphabet cubes. kade heard the sound of the desk breaking in the darkness.. He froze. There is someone else in the room.
He went towards the sound slowly. kade saw a figure next to the desk.

She heard Kade's footsteps and twisted around. In her best attempt at being spooky, she whispered, "You should not have come here, human... Now you must die..." A Cheshire cat smile stretched across her lips and her eyes lit up. It was good to see a familiar face here, even if she had been avoiding his attention, even if that familiar face was a human, even if that familiar face was one of her favorite people... to disagree with. Sadie didn't know why. In fact, a tiny thought in the back of her head began whispering to her about attacking him... after all, who would know if he died here? Then, her thoughts abruptly changed. Where exactly was here?

Morrigan Warren It was cold in the lonely room. The wind beat itself against the rattling windows. She thought she might have heard distant hollow noises, but she was probably just imagining it. The most dramatic thing, however, was the feeling of death pushing in on her from every angle. It was everywhere... something she hadn't felt, even in cemeteries... Morrigan soon opened her eyes and found herself in a dark room. There were windchimes hanging outside the vibrating window, but they weren't exactly windchimes... They were hollowed out femurs. Unlike the surprise and horror a normal person would have felt at this sight, Morrigan felt slightly drawn to the strange decoration. She pressed her hand against the window, where a foggy print soon showed up. Next, she investigated the ground. There were a few loose boards, and nails sticking up, but no large gaps. She soon realized that what she had thought was a room was actually a small living room, or common area, at the end of a long hallway. A fireplace, filled with ash, sat to her left. Armchairs cluttered the space to her right. Their cushions looked detachable, but Morrigan didn't want to take any with her. They were both bulky and of little use.

As implied by their posts, Morrigan woke up in the wing for female adults. Paris, Sadie, and Kade are in the children's wing.
Morrigan will more than likely begin losing her mind soon, due to the fact that reapers are technically not alive... No pulse, cold to the touch, don't need to breathe to live... Not to mention, the oppressive air of death over these halls would drive any reaper mad, even if they were alive.
Paris, all the descriptions of the child's ward in the previous post still apply. There is a large gap in the floor, so that nobody can pass to the other side except Sadie (due to her Agility ability).

"You sure you're human, Kade? Because you practically read my mind. Maybe you're a psychic." She was only half-joking, considering she thought almost the exact same thing moments earlier. "Anyways, it looks like some place where the interior designers had a little too much fun. It looks realistic, and smells that way too, so I doubt those bones are fake. Might want to watch out though. From the way my spine is tingling, I'm guessing there are malevolent forces nearby." Sadie sighed a little. For the moment, it looked like she would have to ally with the human. The problem was getting him across the gap in the floor, which she could cross no problem... but he might have a few more difficulties with it. One of the broken desk pieces looked large enough to lay over the gap, but she didn't know for sure how well it would hold. Her doubt was great enough that she didn't want to risk crossing it herself...

![](http://th05.deviantart.net/fs71/PRE/i/2015/002/9/9/kade_with_border_by_equinoxsoul-d8cbboc.png) Kade gazed at the gap. There is no possibility he make it to the other side if he jumped. He noticed that sadie was examining the piece of desk that was large enough to place over the gap. if we did use that would it be strong to hold us..well sadie won't have a problem shes extremly light. The risk is high.but its better if we moved then staying in one place.
"Is there anything else we can use in the room that can be placed over the gap?" Kade looked around.

She frowned and looked around. Nothing immediately struck her with inspiration, until... Her eye travelled to where the wallpaper was damp and peeling from the boards behind it. She figured this place was old enough that it didn't use drywall, but maybe wooden planks had been used at some point. Sadie peeled the wallpaper away further, to reveal cobblestone. Maybe we can take the plain oak headboard from one of those beds. Or the mattress. "Kade, how about the beds? We can take off the mattress or the headboard.

Phoenix Roy When Phoenix awoke his head was throbing. It felt like something was drilling into his head. he got up and heard the rattleing windows. The sound constant and annoying. but there was a wind chime, that strangely resmbled bones.
The room was dark and empty. He panicked. He didnt want to be alone or traped in the dark. "Hello? anyone here?" he called out. He hoped for a reply.
